Surprised I haven't posted this one already. Melodic black metal from the wonderful world of Sweden. This an absolute gem, absolutely has to be heard by anyone that enjoys black metal. If you think this is too melodic, then fuck you. Also, if you enjoy this then keep an ear open for their new release, which I think is slated for this or next year.

Godkiller - Rebirth of the Middle Ages

I'm not sure why I love this little EP so much, as its a bit lacking in originality. The riffs are great though, and it has keys present in every song (they aren't overbearing though). The vocals are a little different, it sounds to me like he's tearing his throat up. But hey, more power to him. If you love black metal as much as I do, I really recommend a listen. Reminiscent of early Summoning.

Cosmic, hypnotic black metal  that focuses on atmosphere, and repetition of good riffs. Something about it reminds of me of Pure Holocaust, I think it's the riff textures.
